One tough kid, that boy of mine.

Cameron has been having a tough time with his companion E. Hendrickson, he is very arrogant and does dumb things. Cameron has a hard time dealing with stupid people. So being with E. Hendrickson has been a real trial for Cam. That is the reason for the the first line of his letter.

Hey,

Thanks for the prayers... I NEED them. Things have been a little better.

Monday however was the worst day ever... I got so sick. We decided to ride our bikes... Craig... is ALL hills. I was excited to actually ride our bikes though.. E. Hendrickson is just too lazy to get on our bikes... yet he always complains about not having enough miles. Anyways... so we started and we got about two and a half miles and stopped to talk to this guy... so we did... and when we started off again.... I blacked out and almost fell over. But I regained my balance and kept going... I was only out of breathe and light headed and had a small headache... but when we got to the apartments we were going to (another mile later) I was in bad shape. I locked our bikes and then I collasped... I couldn't see anything everything was blurry and I had THE worst migraine I've EVER had... my head was going to split open. So we rushed to a member's house that lived in the apartments and I crashed on her couch... I just laid there with my eyes closed and my hands slowly going numb... and E. Hendrickson taught her a lesson for what only seemed like a few minutes but he told me later I was out for about 45 minutes. But then I got super nauseous and went to her bathroom... and just sat in there for a mintue. But then I called Sister Cristison, our mission president's wife... and she said to go home and sleep for a hour or two. We called the other Craig Elders and they came and picked us up because we had our bikes and I couldn't ride them back... But I slept for a while and was finally well enough to go back out and worked... I still had a pretty bad headache but it was then bearable.
I'm really glad I decided to go back out and work because we knocked on a few doors... and nobody answered... until we met Rodger... we talked with him for an hour on his doorstep... he eventually said he wasn't interested but when he started arguing with us all I did was bear my testimony about how much I know that that Book of Mormon is true and how its brought indescribable happiness into my life and why I was out sharing the gospel with everyone... and I KNOW he felt something...but he wasn't willing to change... I know he'll eventually come around... Mind you I still wasn't feeling good when we left the house but the second I started bearing my testimony... I felt fine.
But I am fine now dont' worry.

So guess what!!! Mother's day is coming up soon!! I get to call you! I am so excited. I cannot wait... it'll be on, Mother's Day of course, but it'll probably be around.... 6 or 6:30 that evening. just be ready cuz I'm not positive when it'll be exactly.

Craig is a Coal Mining town... There are three coal mines.... Colowile, Trapper and Twenty-Mile... that's where Everybody works. But they've recently passed a "Clean Air" law where they can't be running as much and stuff... I don't understand it exactly but its not good because they might ahve to lay off about 200-400 people.. from each mine... and that's what keeps this town running... seriously... it'll be scary to see what happens..

We set an investigator with baptismal date... May 8. Billy Jones is about 42 years old and he's been taught the lessons for about 7 years. But he's been having a hard time trying to quit smoking... his wife is a member. But we helped him quit and now he told us he's ready... I'm very excited for him.

We get our new mission president on July 1. His name is President Maynes... I'm not sure where he's from... I think southern Utah... either that or Arizona.... I'll let you know when I find out..
No there aren't any sister missionaries in our district... I don't think in our zone either... there are three Polynesieans though... E. Plunkett, E. Finau, and E. Anu'iu... they are awesome I love them.. they're great.

You're in my prayers!

Your son,

Elder Landon

We got a great package from Elder Landon on Saturday.. It has a huge package of pictures and his full SD camera card, pictures and about 35 little videos. So fun to see and hear him.

Hey, Everyone!

So we have an investigator who lives.... two miles from the Utah Border... in a place called Browns Park. Its a Wildlife Refuge Park thing... but anyways... Darvy Christiansen is what we call a "Dry Mormon"... She's acitve (and by acitve I mean she comes when ever she gets the chance.... about once a month because its a two hour drive to church) teaches her kids out of the Book of Mormon and Preach My Gospel... her husband is an inactive member... her daughter is 14 and she's been baptized and her parents are members... she just hasn't been baptized...
She thinks she needs to be perfect before she's baptized... and they've been working with her for about 10 years...
Anyways she has her neice living with her from Salt Lake... her name is Laura Allred. She's 16 and has an amazing testimony.. Laura isn't a member either... they came last sunday to fast and testimony meeting and Laura got up and bore her testimony... it was awesome..
She writes her own music and she sang three of them to us... they have the basic doctrine we teach in them... one was about Faith, another about Forgivness and the last about choosing God or to follow the "Wicked King" She's has an awesome spirit about her... we taught her about the Atonement and the Book of Mormon... she's so ready to be baptized... its going to be great..

Other than that not much new has happened...
I Love you All!!!
Thanks
Your Son

From Craig Colorado.....

Elder Englund and Elder Landon before leaving for Craig Colorado....

Cam has since been transferred to Craig, Colorado. He and his companion Elder Hendrickson are now living with the Jones family.

Dear, Family

Well... first off last night we had to come in early (at 8:30) because it was storming so bad... the snow was literally blowing sideways. It was pretty bad. But anyways... we woke up this morning to about two feet of snow on EVERYTHING. That's Craig for ya. It was pretty bad.. we had to go and help Brother Jones pull his tractor/plow out of the snow... so I got to drive his nice big new yellow Jeep. It was pretty cool.
The Jones' have three dogs... ones name is Leroy, he's a hound/rottweiler mix... and he is ANCIENT. he's about 16 years old. and you can TOTALLY tell by just looking at him... it takes him a good two full minutes to completely stand up from laying down and his bark sounds like a rasp. Its sad.. then they have two Great Pyrenees pups... they are both about 6 months old but still pretty big. I forget one's name but the other is Rosco. They're pretty cool and we've become pals. I'll send you pictures.

I had a good Easter... I LOVED the package so much thank you.. I love the scriptures... I am going to get a glue stick today and clue all those in where they go... tell everyone thank you so much. And thanks for the picture, But tell Carson to shave... yes I can see that even on the picture! ;) and tell him to stop growing so I can be bigger than him when I get home... !!! The same with Brady.... he's gotten so tall! Holy Cow...
I loved watching conference it was amazing... the best part was.. Priesthood Session... I was sitting there and it hit me... All of my brother's are now bearers of the Lord's Holy Priesthood... I just started crying... it was an awesome feeling... I was so happy... and I thought of how happy that must make you feel, Mom... I found a scripture and I thought of you... It is Proverbs 22:6 (I think) ... it says... Teach your children the principles of the gospel and it will not leave them and they will not leave it... I love you all.

Things here haven't' been too bad... just same old same old. Just Snow and tracting.
I was sick Monday and Tuesday after Easter... I think it was from those Banquet frozen dinners... DON'T EAT THEM!! they made me super nauseous and gave me diarrhea. It was NOT fun... But I'm fine now... I have been getting small headaches quite a bit lately but nothing I can't handle...
Not much else... Thanks for everything I love you so very much.
